"Harmony in the complex"
It all started with sheets of paper that I would frenetically fill with geometric felt-tip patterns, and one day I » blocked » on one of them. The next day, I decided to reproduce it in paint on canvas.
This motif is the one that appears in the « 000 » series. What I like is the process. The feeling of knowing what the end result will be, without knowing the path that will lead to it. It’s an adventure. Each shape fits into the previous one, each line influences the next.
When I start a piece, I enter a kind of instrospection.
The lines and my mind are fluid, but there’s constant reflection to ensure that the direction, line length and colors are homogeneous. Finding harmony in complexity is my quest.
The work begins with the choice of colors, and this is where my creativity first expresses itself.
Color holds a very important place in my work. I like to take my time in creating associations and I do a lot of mixing and testing.
The cold tones of Paris, the warm ones of Madrid, the vibrant colors of Rio or the shades of green of Bali… I like to lose myself in the memories of the places where I’ve lived to convey an image/feeling through color. This is where I express my personal side.
